3 Day Tiny House Build Courses.

Keep scrolling for the links to tools!

Tapes

Link 1 - €18.49 for a Komelon 5m fancy fella AND a mini level. Unreal!

Link 2 - €44.95 for a twin pack of the fancy Stanley Fatmax, 8m and 5m. Keep one for yourself. You deserve it sure!

Link 3 - €16.45 for a 8m twin pack of the Stanley one featured in the video.

Aim for one with a thicker blade to get a further standout. Bonus points if you get one that has measurements printed on both sides - that can be useful.

The stanley ones are a great entry level measuring tape - I wouldn’t buy any cheaper one than those as they’re not worth the saving for the loss in quality.

For a big fancy flash measuring tape the Komelon ones are cool and TJ O’Mahony are doing a savage deal on them at the moment here as well as on the higher end Stanley ones here.

Double metric can be nice but honestly its better to have metric and imperial. Definitely metric and imperial if you’re buying for anyone over 40.

Speed Square

Link 1 - €17.99 for a small extendable one a la video. Bargain via Toolfix

Link 2 - €13.45 for a DeWalt speed square but its not metric (boo!) via Screwfix

Link 3 - €26.99 for a big beast of a speed square from ‘Murica via Dargan Tools.

Great to get one with the ridges for scribing if you can.

Metal longer lasting than plastic but plastic ones have their place too. I’d always opt for metric over imperial if its one or the other.

Folding Ruler (To insult anyone who wears Carhartt with)

Link 1 - €6.95 for a Stabila that’s 1.7M. Bargain. Stabila is a solid brand.

Link 2 - €3.99 for a 1m on Lenehans Capel Street. 1m is a bit short, but handy if you’re in Dublin City. If you’re going that far, check out McQuillan Tools around the corner, which has an amazing selection of the best tools you can get.

Link 3 - €17.53 from RS Components, Wiha being a fairly high end electrician’s brand so, wowee.

Quick Grips Clamps

Link 1 - €12.55 for a 250mm pair from Screwfix

Link 2 - €15.97 from Woodies for the name brand ones, which to be fair should be a lot more hardy than the generic brands but make no mistake, these break too.

Best to keep an eye on the middle ailes at Aldi and Lidl for these, they’re the best value.

(Stupid) Mechanical Carpenters Pencil

Link 1 - €9.95 Best value from a solid tool shop

Link 2 - €31.99 for a 3 pack from a fancy brand called Tracer, which includes a marker, holster and refills. Bit expensive but its a flash enough kit and conveniently available from Woodies.

Link 3 - €13.95 for just the tracer and holster from McQuillan Tools
