Set in the idyllic location of Cloughjordan Eco Village, we’ll teach you how to use the right tools and materials plus why, the basics of building structures, all through a hands on, pragmatic and fun approach.

This is informal learning. Get your boots on and get ready to make some stuff!

FAQ’s

I have some DIY & construction experience, are the basics courses too easy for me, and do you offer a more advanced course?

If you know the difference between advanced framing and smart framing, if you can frame a stud wall and name each of the components in that wall and their purposes, if you understand the basics of structural loads, and you know how, why and where to use a breather membrane versus a vapour control membrane, then the basics might be too basic for you. If not, then you can gain from the basics course. 
We do offer level 2 courses, but only to students who've completed level 1 courses and projects we prescribe after the course as a sort of 'homework' (except fun).
